The Young Scientist Award of the Photobiology Association of Japan is presented to young researchers who have made outstanding achievements in photobiology research among young researchers belonging to the society.
　The 5th Young Scientist Award of the Photobiology Association of Japan was awarded to Professor Michi Suga for his research on "Structural studies of the oxygen-evolving center in photosynthetic photosystem II" in recognition of his contribution to the development of photobiological research. Professor Suga delivered the award lecture at the annual meeting, where he received a certificate and a commemorative plaque.
